A downpipe is an essential component in tuning any turbocharged vehicle. Its installation helps to “unrestrict” the exhaust system, which directly results in improved performance – faster turbo response, reduced turbo lag, and increased power and torque, especially in the low and mid RPM range. Additionally, the downpipe gives the exhaust system a more aggressive sound and improves the overall efficiency of the entire turbocharging system.
